Hi guys!
Thanks for the great job that you're doing supporting the newcomers to Tenerife with all kinds of vital info!
I have a small question myself, which I hope will be honored an answer too.
I will arrive to Puerto de la Cruz on the last decade of December and I'm looking to rent a pair of bikes for myself and the lady that accompanies me on the trip.
So far I have found two sites where I can get a bike:
tenerife-training.net and
raftingbike.com
For the former I'm sure about the quality of the service and know that they operate in North of the island. But the latter is twice as cheap :)
Since I'm not such a great cyclist myself and was looking just for the bike with good brakes for 20-30 km rides a day, I was considering the Raftingbike as better choice for my purpose.
So the question is, does anyone know if they operate in Puerto de la Cruz, or maybe there is another inexpensive place (~ 50€ a week) to rent simple but reliable bike for 10 days?

Rafting bike supplies more around town style bikes.
I wouldn't want to rely on one for any serious amount of distance.

Update: today I have added some of the other bike rental companies in Tenerife. It's the most comprehensive list of cycling websites in the Canary Islands that I know of.

Mountain Bike Active, Diga Sports and Medano Bike are in fact our main competitors. This is like Pepsi acknowledging coke's existence (which they do in some ads;-)).

Regardless, we sometimes even refer cyclists directly to them, especially when it's in the customer's best interests. Like for example one day rentals or getting cheaper bikes for people.

I think FREE information is the most important aspect of the Tenerife-Training website -after all that was our original goal- to be a source of info for cycling in Tenerife.

I also feel that our bike hire service is good enough to at least mention the other cycling websites in Tenerife without fear of losing out in some way. It's like saying "here's what's out there, make the choice yourself". Hopefully, potential customers will recognise all our hard work and honour our business. For the most part I think they do and hence we have a great base of customer supporting us.

The other positive of this is to make the statement: no we're not alone. I.e. cycling in Tenerife is more popular than ever before.

The last thing I want people to think is that we have some kind of monopoly.
