Here are the places we can reccommend:
Masaru is a luxury apartment hotel, located in the classy "El botanico" part of Puerto de la Cruz. The rooms are very clean and modern. The apartments themselves are also very secure, utilising digital keycard locks for entry. It has a large heated pool, buffet food, internet access, the works.
They also have a great little café, where they make the most perfect toasted cheese sandwiches! A good selection of restaurants are literally just around the corner, or alternatively you can walk to downtown El Puerto... and enjoy shopping, sunbaking, swimming, or other resort activities. It's a pity they don't have any decent photos.
Casablanca is one of the only other places that looks just like the brochures. Everything is spick 'n' span. It has a clean pool, nice resort area, and everything is very well maintained. Rest assured it's what it claims to be.
Hotel Chimisay represents good value for money. It's a great little small hotel, with helpful staff, a cosy atmosphere and a very central location - right in the heart of El Puerto. It even has a tiny gym and a heated pool on the roof!
Hotel Gema Puerto is the only other decent small-scale hotel in El Puerto, also in the heart of El Puerto. Their facilities include a restaurant, roof-top pool, and Wi Fi internet access in the lounge area.

Hotel Botanico
Hotel Botanico is one of the most expensive hotels in El Puerto. If you want 5-star luxury, this is it. Deluxe rooms, honeymoon suites, massage-beauty-spa parlour, spacious grounds, golf course... Need we say more?
Orotava Palace
Bahia Principe San Felipe, a stylish hotel right opposite Martíanez beach.
Hotel Turquesa Playa (an impressive hotel close to the main beach, but quite far from everything else)
Hotel Valle Mar (Located right on the main promenade, opposite El Lago swimming complex)
There are many other hotels and apartments in Puerto de la Cruz, but we can't really reccommend any of them. Sure they might have a fantastic web page & offer great prices. But more often than not, once you're there in person, you find out they could do with some serious restoration. Or you might notice seedy 70's decor which instantly makes your mood drop. Or you have to deal with the grumpy, miserable staff that "work" there. Or they claim to be located in El Puerto when really they're in a neighbouring suburb. Or you just wouldn't feel at ease leaving your bike there.
We'll slowly add places when we're convinced that they offer good service. On the other hand, if you already know a great hotel, e-mail us and we'll check it out. There's plenty of resources out there for finding hotels, or you can E-mail us for a list.

"Built in the 18th century as a gentleman's residence and a 100 years ago was transformed into an oasis of Arabic flavour." Hotel Alhambra is a beautiful hotel located in La Orotava. It boasts an exhibition room with paintings and frescos by the Master Antonio Otazzo, an Arabian-style terrace with a covered roof, a gymnasium, a swimming-pool with solarium and a small garden. There's nothing else quite like it in Tenerife.
