Casablanca is one of the few places that looks just like the brochures. Everything is spick 'n' span. All the reception staff speak 5 languages. They consistently have the highest rating on tripadvisor. It has a heated pool, nice resort area and everything is very well maintained, inside and out. It aims to cater for sporting enthusiasts; there's a functional gymnasium and nearby tennis courts. Rest assured it's what it claims to be. Many visitors stay here year after year.
Hotel Chimisay represents good value for money. It's a great little small hotel, with helpful staff, a cosy atmosphere and a very central location - right in the heart of El Puerto. It even has a tiny gym and a heated pool on the roof!
Hotel Botanico
Hotel Botanico is one of the most expensive hotels in El Puerto. If you want 5-star luxury, this is it. Deluxe rooms, honeymoon suites, massage-beauty-spa parlour, spacious grounds, golf course... Need we say more?
Orotava Palace
Bahia Principe San Felipe, a stylish hotel right opposite Martíanez beach.
Hotel Turquesa Playa (an impressive hotel close to the main beach, but quite far from everything else)
Hotel Valle Mar (Located right on the main promenade, opposite El Lago swimming complex)
La Carabela, a simple hotel with a cozy foyeur which looks more like a cafe.
There are many other hotels and apartments in Puerto de la Cruz, but we can't really recommend many of them. We have written short reviews of many other hotels (some good and some bad) here. Sure they might have a fantastic web page & offer great prices. But more often than not, once you're there in person, you find out they could do with some serious restoration. Or you might notice seedy 70's decor which instantly makes your mood drop. Or you have to deal with the grumpy, miserable staff that "work" there. Or they claim to be located in El Puerto when really they're in a neighbouring suburb. Or you just wouldn't feel at ease leaving your bike there.
We'll slowly add more places when we're convinced that they offer good service. On the other hand, if you already know a great hotel, e-mail us and we'll check it out. There's plenty of resources out there for finding hotels, or you can E-mail us for a list.

"Built in the 18th century as a gentleman's residence and a 100 years ago was transformed into an oasis of Arabic flavour." Hotel Alhambra is a beautiful hotel located in La Orotava. It boasts an exhibition room with paintings and frescos by the Master Antonio Otazzo, an Arabian-style terrace with a covered roof, a gymnasium, a swimming-pool with solarium and a small garden. There's nothing else quite like it in Tenerife.

Hotel Rural Victoria is a traditional Spanish hotel located in the old town of La Orotava.
Hotel Rural El Patio, a majestic rural hotel surrounded by banana plantations.
La Quinta Roja, a cosy hotel in the main square of Garachico.
There are many traditional rural houses in Tenerife; take a look at this comprehensive list of fincas in Tenerife. Here are some nearby places we can reccommend:
This is a beautiful traditional Spanish house in a quiet rural location, 3km from the historic town of La Orotava and a 5 minute walk from the Tenerife Training HQ. This place contains a wonderful garden complete with outdoor furniture, Pool, BBQ and terrace.
This is another beautiful traditional Spanish house, situated right next door to Casa Rural Pinto (above). Constructed in 1826, it contains a garden terrace, BBQ, pool, beautiful views of the surrounding La Orotava valley, ocean and mountains. This is probably the best place on the whole island to start the climb to Mt Teide.
