“End of the road” (Teno):

Silvery reeds and wild flowers dance in unison in the gentle breezes.

Teno Alto is a special place that can be accessed from El Palmar. A short climb out up over one of the valley walls leads up onto a relatively exposed high altitude plateau located 750masl. A few rural houses dot the terraced landscape. Silvery reeds and wildflowers dance in unison in the gentle breezes.

To extend this ride we suggest exploring the road to Punta de Teno as well. To get there you’ll need to literally cut across the side of a cliff face. There’s a 200 metre drop straight into the Atlantic ocean on one side of the road so it’s not for the faint hearted. A few additional notes: it helps to bring a light with you because there is one very dark tunnel just before the descent to Punta de Teno; it can be pretty windy around there at times near the lighthouse; finally, it’ not adviseable to visit Punto de Teno in high wind conditions due to possible rock falls in the area.
